I recently saw a documentary about Navy Seals, which inspired me to write this article. The documentary went into great detail about fear and teaching Navy Seal Candidates to deal with fear. It occurred to me what they were teaching, also helped me to completely overcome my anxiety disorder.
During a panic attack anxiety sufferers believe that they are having a life threatening event, which evokes panic. In some of the training exercises the seals will be exposed to extreme bouts of panic because they are put in a situation that appear to be life threatening. In such cases the exercise will cause them to quit the program.
The Navy came up with a plan to help these candidates deal with this fear, these very same techniques can help you overcome anxiety forever.
Technique number 1, know that you can do this. This is the secret ingredient to any success.
Technique number 2 is; Know what to expect. If you know, what to expect, you can come up with a plan to over come the obstacle. Know the feelings you have during a panic attack, identify these feelings as Know what to expect, know you have been there before ease the fear, you already know what to expect.
Technique number 3, know what the plan is to concur this anxiety. Anxiety is powerless; without fear, you must put aside your fear, because it is the fear that makes you sick. Positive thinking reassurance and deep breathing will allow you think more clearly, it is clear rational thought that will get you through a panic attack. Once you learn you can beat one panic attack, you can beat all panic attacks.
Technique number 4, Rehearse the plan in your head see yourself acting the plan out, in your mind see yourself doing exactly what you have prepared yourself to do.
Technique number 5, Do it, you have been taught, you rehearsed, you are prepared. Teach yourself the most important lesson, that lesson is works I can do it!
